Even though we're less than two months into 2026, there's already a lot the world is dealing with. The retail landscape is still unstable, inflation remains high and the politically charged state of the country continues to intensify. (After all, there's a reason the NYFW street style crowd is flaunting "Ice Out" pins.) Designer Christian Siriano has been feeling the anxiety all too much.
"I honestly just felt like I needed to be somewhere else," he told Fashionista backstage before his Fall 2026 show. "I really felt stifled, and like we're all just going through so much." He knew showgoers could use an escape — and an escape he offered.
As usual, the brand's eveningwear lineup offers the most glamour and drama, such as the runway show's closing lineup of voluminous gowns. But it also offers glitz in the form of sculpted sequin dresses; sensuality in the array of sheer corsetry; and edge in the opening looks of all-black suits.
"This is a really dream, fantasy, escape world, which I love to do," said the designer. "It's a little more about surrealism and the idea of what's real, what's fantasy, what's conscious, what's subconscious. There [are] a little bit of [Salvador] Dalí-esque moments in this story."
