📰 Glenn Martens Bids Farewell to Diesel {% if EntryImageUrl and EntryImageUrl != "" %} {% endif %} ✨ Fashion Insights & Trends: Following a six-year tenure at Diesel, Glenn Martens will step down as creative director of the brand after the Spring 2027 runway show at the start of Milan Fashion Week. Its parent company OTB Group announced the news Friday, stating in a press release that his exit marks the conclusion of a “transformative chapter in the brand’s history.” Martens will remain creative director of Maison Margiela — also owned by OTB — a role he took on last year after John Galliano’s departure. Diesel founder Renzo Rosso tapped Martens to lead the denim powerhouse back in 2020, introducing himself to the role with the “Diesel x Diesel” campaign, which dug into the label’s late-1980s archive for inspiration. From there, fabric twisting and wrapping (techniques he’d honed in his previous posi...

📰 Leset Opens Its 'Dream Closet' in Los Angeles {% if EntryImageUrl and EntryImageUrl != "" %} {% endif %} ✨ Fashion Insights & Trends: Leset, the maker of the cool-girl T-shirts you see all over your FYP, is making a splash in Los Angeles. The fashion brand, founded by Lili Chemla in 2019, just opened its first-ever L.A. store at Palisades Village in Los Angeles’ Pacific Palisades neighborhood. It follows the success of the brand’s Bleecker St. store in New York City, and this is only the beginning: Leset is planning a larger West Hollywood location for early next year. The Palisades Village location came first because of the sense of community in the area post-Jan. 2025 fires. (Fashionista heard this from Leset’s neighbor Xirena , too.) “We’ve been incredibly intentional about retail and wanted to make sure we were opening stores in places where we could really become part of the community, rather than just adding doors for the sake o...

📰 Gia/irl Is Making the Cool-Girl Clothes Plus-Size Women Want {% if EntryImageUrl and EntryImageUrl != "" %} {% endif %} ✨ Fashion Insights & Trends: When you can’t find what you want in fashion, sometimes you have to create it yourself. That’s what fuels Gia Sinatra, founder and CEO of Gia/irl. With a background in modeling and brand consulting, Sinatra knows what it takes to make a clothing line that fits plus-size bodies. Her four-year-old Los Angeles-based brand has found success in making trend-driven clothes for sizes 10 to 30 (or L to 5X) and she’s recently teamed up with model and content creator Emma Arletta on a September collection out now . It’s their first ready-to-wear collaboration (and Sinatra’s first with any influencer) following their bridal collaboration earlier this year. Fashionista caught up with the duo at their New York Fashion Week-timed launch preview held in Dolce Vita’s showroom. The shoe brand wa...

📰 What Designers Think About During Their Post-Show Bows {% if EntryImageUrl and EntryImageUrl != "" %} {% endif %} ✨ Fashion Insights & Trends: Don’t get it twisted: New York Fashion Week makes for a fun highlight reel on social media (what’s not to love about dressing up and running into celebrities?), but there’s plenty of chaos and tension behind the scenes that the public doesn’t always see. Editors camp out at coffee shops to file their stories before dashing to the next show; influencers hustle to post as much video content as possible; and publicists run around making last-minute seating changes and praying their clients’ events go on without a hitch. But no one seems to feel the NYFW pressure more than the designers themselves. For months, they work tirelessly to sew, cut, embroider and drape their collections to perfection. So we can only imagine the sigh of relief they take when they finally present their work and can take a ...

📰 Andrew Kwon Looks to the 'Mystery of the Natural World' for a Dreamy Spring 2027 Collection {% if EntryImageUrl and EntryImageUrl != "" %} {% endif %} ✨ Fashion Insights & Trends: One thing to know about Andrew Kwon? His designs will always whisk you away into a fantasy-scape. And on the last day of New York Fashion Week — when showgoers have reached their exhaustion limit — mentally escaping into another reality is exactly what’s needed. On Tuesday afternoon, the New York-based designer presented his Spring 2027 collection, titled “Séraphine.” Inspired by Nicolino Calyo’s painting, “Arcadian Landscape,” it explores femininity through the beauty and mystery of the natural world, according to the show notes. The resulting spring offering translates the movement of shifting lights and cascading waterfalls into iridescent fabrics and sweeping trains. Kwon incorporated more direct natural references through hand-...
