📰 Fashionista's June Shopping List: 24 Items Our Editors Love
✨ Fashion Insights & Trends:
New York City's heatwaves limit most wardrobes to only the lightest fabrics possible, but we're discovering breezy 'fits that allow our styles to shine through in spite of triple-digit temperatures.
Team Fashionista braved the heat in a classic airy maxi dress, mid-rise relaxed shorts, a striped cotton poplin button-up and a tiered ankle-length skirt. Gold jewelry was our metal of choice this month, with molten mini hoop earrings, a mariner chain stretch bracelet and a zodiac-inspired necklace. As for our other summertime accessories, we loved a spacious leather shoulder bag, slip-on raffia sandals and a kitschy croissant keychain.
See (and shop!) our editors' favorite fashion finds from June.

Left on Friday Cabana Maxi Dress, $200, available here: "We've officially crossed over to surface-of-the-sun hot weather in NYC, and this airy, lightweight dress — made from the brand's naturally moisture-wicking 'sport silk' — has become my wardrobe powerhouse. It's beyond comfy (I'd sleep in it), doesn't wrinkle (hello, packable dream) and has garnered me lots of compliments every time I've worn it, despite being a pretty classic, not-at-all-flashy piece." —Steph Saltzman, Beauty & Style Director

Gap Organic Cotton Poplin Big Shirt, $34, available here and Easy Wide-Leg Pants, $70 $34, available here: "Once summer hits and I don't know what to wear, I tend to have one outfit that I always fall back on. This year, that outfit is this beautifully vivid striped set by Gap. I'm mostly obsessed with the colors, but I also love the lightweight fabric, contrasting print on the inside and how versatile it is. I've worn it to dinner with lots of accessories and a flashy shoe, but also to the beach as an effortless cover-up." —Brooke Frischer, Associate Editor and Social Media Manager

John Fluevog Anna Gothic Bag, $629, available here: "I was recently introduced to this brand and I wish I knew about it sooner. (Celeb fans include Lady Gaga, Jack White, etc.) This has been my favorite handbag since I got it. The body is big and roomy inside (laptop? Hydroflask? No problem!) and I just love the edgy hardware of piercings and chains. Initially, she's sleek and sexy, but the punk-rock aesthetic is perfectly subtle to fit my vibe. My favorite detail is the elongated shoulder strap, which is fully adjustable; worn long, it creates a sash accent that feels so unique." —Savannah Sitton, Market & Branded Content Editor

Aritzia Martine Poplin Skirt, $98 $59, available here: "For summer so far, I've swapped my jeans for this poplin maxi skirt, and I'm feeling zero regrets. The versatile, tiered style is dressy enough to work with my formal looks, but casual enough to pair with my laid-back weekend uniform — a crop top and Puma Speedcats. The lightweight cotton fabric is also breathable enough to beat the NYC heatwave." —Janelle Sessoms, Staff Writer

Missoma Eny Puffy Small Hoop Earrings, $161, available here: "In collaboration with New York-based ceramicist Eny Lee Parker, Missoma launched a jewelry collection of puffy floral-inspired styles, like this pair of miniature hoop earrings. Cast in 18k recycled gold vermeil, these molten hoops have an organic look that I love. They're a playful take on an everyday staple, and a seamless addition to any ear stacking collection." —Catie Pusateri, Contributing Writer

Faherty Twill Linen Overall, $198, available here: "I've always been a big fan of overalls (one and done, plus you don't need a purse!) and was delighted to find this elevated, summer-appropriate pair made from 100% linen. As with most Faherty pieces, the quality is excellent and I know I'll be throwing these over a white tank many times this summer and beyond." —Dhani Mau, Editor in Chief

Elastique Adorn Leggings, $285, available here: "Not only are these thick, intensely compressive leggings beautifully sculpting and comfy to wear through a workout, on a long flight or just lounging around — but they're also ultra functional. The thigh area is lined with 'MicroPerle' beads, the brand's proprietary little bumps (don't worry, you don't feel or look lumpy!) to massage legs while you wear them. Combined with the compression, they can help to improve blood flow, support muscle recovery, reduce soreness, lessen swelling and fatigue and stimulate fluid movement, according to the brand. I love a wellness treatment, but one that takes exactly zero effort to use and looks like a classic, high-quality pair of leggings? Sign me the hell up." —Steph

Longchamp Croissant Key Ring, $120, available here: "I'm still stuck on the chaotic customization of it all. The latest bag charm added to my collection is this adorable rollable croissant keychain from Longchamp. It even unfurls in a very cute nod to the brand's classic Le Pliage bag." —Brooke

Weed Maps X Robin Eisenberg Robin Throw Blanket, $78, available here: "This month, cannabis brand Weed Maps collaborated with visionary designer Robin Eisenberg (recognized for her cosmic, female-forward artwork) on a fatally cute capsule made specifically for stylish stoners, like myself. I got several pieces from the collection (the charm chain melts my heart and I didn't know I needed a Mary Jane cowboy hat, but I did), but this tapestry blanket has completed my couch curation as the cutest (and most personality-encapsulating) throw I've ever seen. If this collab speaks to you as much as it did to me, I strongly suggest not waiting till it sells out." —Savannah

Parade Poplin Boxer Short, $36, available here: "It's been a long time coming, but I've finally hopped on the boxer shorts bandwagon. This lightweight, relaxed-fit pair from Parade has become my ultimate WFH lounge piece. And for a blue and white striped print, they're surprisingly easy to style when I go out and about. I've been pairing them with a basic tank, slim sneakers and a maxi tote. Parade also has a matching button-down (which I also own), and you can never go wrong with a set." —Janelle

André Assous Ramy Sandal, $329, available here: "Even though I don't have any beach trips planned this summer, this raffia slide sandal instantly transports me to a beachside state of mind. With their slight heel and chic crisscross design, these sandals elevate my heatwave-proof rotation of linen matching sets and breezy sundresses. The best part, of course, is that they're actually comfortable thanks to the cushioned footbed." —Catie

Dissh Sonny Clover Tailored Skort, $139, available here: "Since procuring this piece, I feel I may never wear another mini skirt again — it's skorts only from here on out. The hidden shorts just make for a much more comfortable and secure wearing experience, and I love that this style in particular looks like a regular skirt (i.e. the shorts are not visible from the back)." —Dhani

Amo Valentina Jeans, $310, available here: "If a pair of jeans is going to cost upwards of $300, the quality had better be off the charts. Amo nailed it with these: The 100% cotton denim is heavy, but also super soft for a perfectly slouchy effect. The brand is entirely women-designed, and relies on 'responsibly' sourced fabrics; the level of attention put into every detail is evident. I know the jeans themselves are going to have longevity — and the mid-rise, relaxed (but not super oversized) silhouette will withstand the trend cycles, too." —Steph

Sister Jane Chandelier Chiffon Midi Dress, $195, available here: "This dress gives me Rodarte and Alessandro Michele vibes in the best way possible, but without the price tag of either. It's also visually and texturally perfect for frolicking in a meadow at sunset — a.k.a. my most anticipated plans this summer." —Brooke

Boho Moon Amore Zodiac Necklace, $27, available here: "I was apprehensive that this super affordable jewelry brand could live up to its 'no tarnish' guarantee. However, considering I've now doused this necklace in sunscreen, bug spray, sweat and who knows what else and it's still as gold and sparkly as new, I'd say it lived up to its promise. I love having a new accessible jewelry brand I can shop knowing that it'll hold up over time." —Savannah

Rumored Cambridge Top, $98, available here: "Not even a heatwave will stop me from wearing black. This sexy sheer top is putting in the work for my summer wardrobe: Throw on a solid-colored camisole underneath and shorts, and I have a casual, on-the-go outfit. Swap those shorts for a miniskirt, and I can have a fun night out on the town." —Janelle

Reformation Lina Linen Two Piece, $248, available here: "This linen two-piece set could have been plucked straight from Meredith Blake's chic wardrobe. With its striped boatneck top and matching mini skirt, it exudes that 'old money' aesthetic without the need for a country club membership. I especially love the cascading buttons down the front, which emphasize a slight peplum silhouette, paired with the tie in the back for a cinched waist." —Catie

Dianna Singh The Coastal Set, $165, available here: "Allure Features Director (and my friend!) Dianna Singh just launched her eponymous, super thoughtfully designed caftan brand, and I'm particularly obsessed with this cotton seersucker set. Dianna's mission is to make garments that 'are easy to wear but still make a statement,' and this breezy purple number absolutely fits the bill. Whether worn together (fancy PJs-style) or separately (the pants beg to be layered over a swimsuit at the beach), both pieces are every bit as comfy and versatile as they are chic." —Steph

Aritzia Equity Shorts, $98, available here: "This might be the ultimate do-it-all short for summer that offers total versatility, from professional to casual settings. The silhouette is a cropped version of the brand's best-selling Effortless Pant, complete with handy front and back pockets and a comfy self-tie waistline, and the cherry on top: a layered waistband effect mimicking the 'exposed undies' trend going around, except way more flattering and comfortable than wearing actual boxers." —Savannah

Larroudé Milan Sandal, $350, available here: "I adore a sleek stiletto, but I'm unfortunately not built to withstand that particular kind of torture, so block heels dominate my footwear wardrobe. This pair from Larroudé is my dream silhouette: a sturdy block heel, secure ankle strap and built-in memory foam insole, all in a chic caramel leather colorway. I also particularly enjoy the golden embellishments as a devoted gold-jewelry girl." —Catie

Alex and Ani Mariner Chain Stretch Bracelet, $44, available here: "This brand has evolved a lot since I once collected its bangle bracelets in high school! Case in point: This gold chain bracelet earned many compliments at Swim Week (mariner, or 'pig nose', links are synonymous with Miami). I love that it deceivingly looks like a bangle, but is really a stretch bracelet (easy on and off) made of shiny gold beads." —Savannah

Agapée Ostuni Necklace, $111, available here: "Timeless? Check. Gold? Check. Stackable? Check. Need I say more?" —Janelle

Glowny Wild Button Shorts, $46, available here: "This extremely cute South Korean brand recently opened a pop-up in L.A. and I took the opportunity to opt in to the polka-dot trend. I was initially worried these little shorts felt too 'young' for me, but they've turned out to be perfect for both sleeping in and throwing over a black swimsuit to head to the pool." —Dhani

Packable Ponyflo Sun Hat, $38, available here: "When I tell you this sun hat has changed my life, I'm only being a little hyperbolic. I live in ponytails and slicked-back updos all summer, so this brand — which specifically creates headwear that allows for ponytails — feels like it was made just for me. This travel-friendly hat easily Velcros apart to lay nearly flat in my suitcase; I've brought it on every summer trip I've taken so far and have been desperately thankful to have it on more than one occasion. The Velcro fastening also allows you to adjust it to your exact fit, while having a ponytail strung through the opening helps it stay secure. As far as design, I find it as sleek and elevated as a straw sun hat can be, making it appropriate for brunch and fancier events just as well." —Savannah
