As Paris Fashion Week, and the Spring 2026 fashion month circuit, comes to an end, Matthieu Blazy presented his highly-anticipated debut collection for Chanel on Monday. He staged his inaugural show for the house at the Grand Palais, where massive planets hung above the runway. The message was clear: Out with the old, and in with a new universe for Chanel. Presumably, one in which the brand will thrive.

"For this first Chanel show, I wanted to do something quite universal, like a dream, something outside of time, and I was fascinated by the stars, a theme so dear to the House," Blazy said in an Instagram post caption. "We all observe the same sky, and I think it provokes the same emotions in us."

Of course, he referenced known Chanel tropes, such as the black-and-white color scheme, tweed, layered pearl necklaces and straight, boxy silhouettes. But the former Bottega Veneta designer put his own spin on them with his keen eye for detail and texture. The Spring 2026 lineup includes plenty of voluminous fringe skirts, beautifully draped dresses and matching sets with meticulously placed floral appliqués.
