Shoppers rush to buy Matthieu Blazy's Chanel

French shoppers and fashion insiders swarmed to Chanel boutiques following the in-store release of Matthieu Blazy's debut collection. Wait times for pairing with retail associates were as long as an hour. Blazy's Chanel accessories drew the most interest, including its shoes and bags. Other favorites included a now sold-out long-sleeve button-down. "We haven't seen this in a very long time. Henkel acquires Not Your Mother's

Chinese clothing manufacturers face price hikes

The Iran war-induced oil price spikes are driving up raw material costs across the supply chain, forcing Chinese clothing manufacturers to brace for price hikes. Some suppliers are adjusting costs as often as twice a day to keep up with market conditions. Meanwhile, many garment manufacturers are negotiating with clients to share the cost burden. If material costs continue to rise, they will eventually be passed on to consumers as well. {Bloomberg/paywalled}

New York Times profiles celebrity makeup artist Nina Park

Makeup artist Nina Park has emerged as a celebrity favorite, thanks to her natural, no-makeup-makeup technique. "I respect artists who can completely transform a face. [...] But for me, I'm just more interested in, like, balance and editing," she told Yola Mzizi for The New York Times. Her approach has attracted the likes of Zoë Kravitz, Emma Stone, Margaret Qualley, Mia Goth and Greta Lee. Park also discussed her creative process, her art background and getting into makeup. {The New York Times/paywalled}
