Just a few days after Zara announced its two-year creative partnership with John Galliano, the Spanish retailer has revealed a collaboration with another beloved designer: Willy Chavarria.
The duo teamed up to create Vatisímo, a collection bringing Chavarria's Chicano cultural identity and workwear designs to a global audience. Even the name "Vatísimo" celebrates Latin American culture, as it's the superlative form of "vato," a colloquial term in the Chicano community for friends, partners, homies and loved ones.

Launching Wednesday, March 26, the ready-to-wear collection spans garments, accessories and jewelry for men and women, priced between $25 and $529. The designs highlight Chavarria's signature precise tailoring and strong silhouettes. Standout pieces include structured pencil skirts, short-sleeved shirts in cupro with raw-edge finishing and footwear in rich textures.
Accompanying the collection is a campaign directed by Glen Luchford and Chavarria, starring supermodel Christy Turlington alongside actor Alberto Guerra. The visuals, photographed and filmed in Mexico, draw inspiration from telenovelas, telling a fatal love story shaped by power, jealousy and desire.

This partnership marks a continuation of the Spanish retailer's strategy to elevate its brand positioning. In recent years, Zara has worked to rebrand itself from a fast fashion label into an affordable designer brand, partly through collaborations with industry names. Past partners include designers Susan Fang, Stefano Pilati, Ludovic Saint Sernin, TwoJeys, Ader Error and Studio Nicholson; it's also tapped esteemed fashion photographer Steven Miesel for various projects.
Vatísimo will be available to shop starting March 26 in select stores, online and at a pop-up shop at 73 Spring Street in New York City. The pop-up will be open Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Sunday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
