📰 The 24 Best Beauty Products Fashionista Editors Tried in June
✨ Fashion Insights & Trends:
Each month, Fashionista editors try a *lot* of beauty products. And while not every formula we test is a winner, we're constantly unearthing new favorites. Here, we've rounded up our latest hair, skin, fragrance, wellness and makeup discoveries — whether fresh-to-market drops or merely recent additions to our personal routines.
Thanks to scorching temperatures, swampy humidity and blasting AC units, team Fashionista has put our beauty routines through a lot this month. But, with intense pressure, some diamonds (read: very good beauty finds) have emerged.
Skin care showed up as our star category this June, with an actually soothing acne-focused moisturizer, plumping vegan 'snail mucin' cream, hydrating moisture barrier-boosting serum and lightweight semi-matte mineral SPF capturing our attention. Our new makeup bag additions included a shimmering champagne eye-shadow stick, mattifying setting mist, TikTok-viral cushion foundation and luminous blush stick. The best hair-care products we tested emphasized hydration via a smoothing gloss mask and styling cream for embracing your natural texture.
Ahead, see (and shop!) all of our standout June beauty discoveries.

Tata Harper Clarifying Moisturizer, $78, available here: "I don't usually like 'clarifying' or acne-focused moisturizers, as I find they aren't hydrating and/or contain actives that don't mix well with my other products. Tata Harper's, on the other hand, focuses on soothing botanical ingredients to calm the skin, reduce oil and support the microbiome. It makes my skin feel perfectly hydrated, balanced and supple and I've noticed a major reduction in breakouts and congestion since I started using it." —Dhani Mau, Editor in Chief

Higher Dose Body Sculptor, $399, available here: "This body 'sculpting' device combines a contoured shape (essentially a giant, body-sized gua sha for manual lymphatic massage) with microcurrent technology, red light and near infrared light for an impressive combination of treatments in one step. According to the brand, it can help to increase blood flow, enhance product absorption, tone muscles, aid with post-workout recovery, provide fascia release and create an overall 'lifted' effect. It can be used just about anywhere on the body, but my favorite place has been on my arms, which I have found to be a curious and annoying site of fluid retention lately. It's a bit of a time commitment — and you have to use the included activator gel for conductivity — but I'm super impressed." —Steph Saltzman, Beauty & Style Director

Moroccanoil High Shine Gloss Mask, $30, available here: "This cream mask has made my frizz-prone hair look and feel smooth and silky after just two uses, thanks to the formula's blend of shine-depositing argan oil, glycerin, citric acid and silicones. This will definitely be my go-to repair product all summer long, especially after beach days." —Brooke Frischer, Associate Editor and Social Media Manager

Glossier Lip Glaze, $22, available here: "Anything Glossier? Gnarly. To be honest, Katseye cosigning Glossier's new lip oil is what drew me in to try the product, but its instantly hydrating properties and high-shine finish are why I keep coming back for more. The lightweight, gloss-like oil provides just enough color that I can wear it on its own, paired with my favorite lip liners. It also boasts incredible staying power: I can go hours without needing a touch-up." —Janelle Sessoms, Staff Writer

Jouer Luminizing Glow Serum in Nude Glow, $38, available here: "For my no-makeup makeup days (which have become more frequent, thanks to June's soaring temperatures), this glow-y serum strikes the perfect balance between a refreshed, radiant finish and a lightweight feel. Formulated with 7% niacinamide, glycerin and hyaluronic acid to boost skin's hydration, it delivers a subtle champagne glow that melts into my SPF without making me sparkle like Edward Cullen." —Catie Pusateri, Contributing Writer

Rejuva Fresh Skin Rejuvenating Light Therapy Device, $250, available here: "This nifty device has four different colored LED light settings — red, blue, green and yellow — which you can customize via a timer setting to target different skin goals. I try to use it for 10 minutes a day, and I much prefer it to a red light mask, which can be unsanitary since it sits on your skin. I also like that it breaks down into three pieces for storing, although it is a little tricky to slide them together." —Savannah Sitton, Market & Branded Content Editor

Briogeo Superfoods Lightweight Hydration Hair Mask, $39, available here: "I recently realized that some of the hair masks and conditioners I'd been using were too heavy for my fine, albeit dry, hair, so I was thrilled to hear about this new launch from one of my go-to hair brands. The lightweight mask does just what it claims, adding shine, hydration and manageability without weighing down my delicate curls. It also happens to smell delicious." —Dhani

Personal Day Emotional Support Lip Balm, $24, available here: "I'm the kind of person who couldn't fathom going to bed without first slathering on a generous coat of lip balm — but I've also been struggling with hormonal breakouts that are especially bad around my chin and jawline. So I'm trying to avoid ultra-moisturizing formulas that may migrate overnight and clog my already stressed-out pores. This thick balm was formulated specifically to be acne-safe, yet it's super effective for creating soft, smooth, hydrated lips." —Steph

TirTir Mask Fit Red Cushion Foundation, $24, available here: "Although I'm not typically a full-coverage foundation person, my TikTok-driven curiosity compelled me to try this extremely viral product. I've loved using it to cover any specific spots on my face and thin it out around my skin using a little bit of my moisturizer." —Brooke

Carpe Instant Matte Setting Mist, $30, available here: "I love this mattifying setting spray for summer. The brand specializes in 'anti-sweat' products; I paired this mist mist with its SPF primer (which has a subtle tint and is super smoothing) and my face base stayed smooth and flawless all day, even when running around in Miami's hot humidity." —Savannah

Toty Ilumina Mineral Glow SPF 50+, $44, available here: "I've had my fair share of bad luck with mineral sunscreens that are far from dark-skin friendly. So when I first received this one from Toty, I went in with pretty low expectations. Shame on me for being such a pessimist: This antioxidant-, jojoba oil- and niacinamide-powered mineral sunscreen effortlessly melts into my skin and wears as a completely transparent SPF. It has a non-greasy and blendable finish that's perfect to wear under my makeup." —Janelle

Urban Decay Naked Eye Shadow Stick in Top Off, $25, available here: "Urban Decay took inspiration from its Naked palette — a revered beauty relic — to create blendable cream eye-shadow sticks in eight shades referencing the OGs. Top Off (inspired by the original shade Virgin) is a light champagne shimmer that I've been sporting as my go-to inner corner highlight. It swipes on without any dragging, easily blends out into a soft sparkle and even stays put throughout a sweaty night at the club." —Catie

Murad Biome-Balancing Clear & Prevent Acne Treatment Serum, $45, available here: "My hesitation with many acne products is that the strong active ingredients will ultimately destroy my skin barrier and cause even worse skin issues, so Murad's claim that its latest acne launch would support microbiome health, while also clearing and preventing all types of acne, immediately piqued my interest. So far, the salicylic- and mandelic acid-spiked serum lives up to those claims — I've noticed fewer breakouts and less congestion without any irritation, redness, pilling or dryness." —Dhani

Dezi Skin Body Gloss, $48, available here: "I love to be moisturized — and also look moisturized. So I was instantly a fan of this shea butter- and vitamin E-spiked body lotion, which accomplishes both tasks in one quick step. As the name indicates, it imparts a radiant, glow-y finish (without any glitter or shimmer particles) to 'gloss' your limbs for a beautiful, radiant effect." —Steph

Lancôme Genifique Ultimate Recovery Serum, $62, available here: "I'm pretty loyal to another do-it-all, very established recovery serum, but I also know people swear by this one, so I decided to give it a go. The formula is on the thicker side, but it melts into the skin easily. After using it for about two weeks, I noticed my skin felt more hydrated on a day-to-day basis, and it appeared less dull." —Brooke

Korres Black Pine Up-Lift Contouring Serum, $68, available here: "I love everything about this product: Its gel-like formula that's moisturizing, yet undetectable once rubbed in, the applicator that makes for a nice user experience, the roller ball that prevents product waste. I love rolling it along my neck and jaw for a sculpting massage (providing serious relief to my tight jaw muscles from TMJ), making it a calming ritual I look forward to." —Savannah

Tarte Amazonian Clay Palette, $49, available here: "This warm-toned palette is my new go-to anytime I want a natural eye-shadow look. Even the shimmery shades, while pigmented, are low-key enough to pass for a day-to-day look. And can we give a round of applause to the blendability? Given that it's a clay-based formula, I do typically layer a primer on first for better grip, but once I start swiping it on, it blends like a dream." —Janelle

Follain Daily Mineral Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 35, available here: "I'm quite picky when it comes to sunscreen textures — anything too goop-y becomes a hassle to blend, while chalky formulas immediately exit my stash. Follain's new mineral SPF nailed my ideal texture: lightweight and hydrating, with a semi-matte finish. Alongside its zinc oxide SPF 35 formula, the sunscreen taps bisabolol to soothe skin, coconut extract for balancing skin's moisture and fatty acids for restoring hydration. I love its natural-looking finish that delivers a subtle radiance, but as with any mineral SPF, keep in mind that it won't have a completely sheer finish across all skin tones." —Catie

Facile Brighten Targeted Pigment Serum, $38, available here: "I've been in a long battle with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (and, more recently, melasma), and have found that this serum's non-irritating combo of tranexamic acid, azelaic acid and niacinamide is more effective, and just works better with my overall skin-care routine, than other pigment-fighting products I've tried, from vitamin C to harsher acid combinations. It's now my go-to daytime serum that I layer under moisturizer and sunscreen to reduce the effects of summer sun exposure." —Dhani

Voluspa California Summers x Coola SPF Summer Essentials Bundle, $44, available here: "I'm a big fan of Voluspa candles for their burn times (this one is 25 hours) and uniquely bold (yet not overpowering) scents. The brand's new partnership with Coola infuses one of my favorite SPF products with the California Summers fragrance I know and love. Featuring sea salt and vanilla, this bundle has all the warm, beachy energy I need, especially in NYC." —Brooke

Saint Jane Rich Rescue Phyto Mucin Cream, $45, available here: "I was intrigued when I saw that Saint Jane had created what it touted as a vegan version of snail mucin, formulated with yam root, for this moisturizer. Despite being ultra rich, it doesn't feel heavy on skin — I find it to be the perfect bedtime (and also summertime) moisturizer. I love how easily it adds radiance to my skin without leaving a noticeable scent or residue behind." —Savannah

Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Blush Healthy Glow Stick, $42, available here: "For the days I'm in a rush, this is by far the easiest blush to reach for. I only need a couple of swipes to blend it out (with my fingers!), which leaves a luminous layer of highly-pigmented color that has a near air-brushed, blurring effect. I also love that it lasts literally all day: I gave it a test run on one of the hottest days of the year (so far), and to my delight, it didn't smudge or melt off under the 90-degree weather." —Janelle

Hello Sunday The Mineral Lip One SPF 45 in Berry Balmy, $15, available here: "I love my SPF-enhanced lip glosses, but I've recently gravitated toward Hello Sunday's velvety mineral lip tint for a subtle flush of color (and SPF 45!). With vitamin E and moringa oil to lock in moisture, the smoothing tint leaves a weightless, sheer finish without compromising on hydration or sun protection. Plus, there's no sunscreen smell here — Berry Balmy (a soft rosy mauve) smells like a Strawberry Shortcake-themed Lip Smacker." —Catie

Messy 'I Am Enough' Rough Dry Style Cream, $32, available here: "With Messy, DryBar founder Alli Webb is on a (yes, ironic) mission to help women embrace their natural hair textures via the right styling routine and products, the 'hero' being this Rough Dry Style Cream. Ingredients like olive stem cell extract and ucuuba butter hydrate, soften, strengthen and add shine while chickpea extract offers light hold without any of the crunchiness, heaviness or stickiness of most curl stylers. Hair looks soft and touchable with just the right mix of definition and imperfection — exactly what I always want for my 3a/b hair." —Dhani
In case you missed last month's picks, you can find them here:
BeautyStat C Lip Serum SPF 30, $15, available here: "This is the first sunscreen-enhanced lip product I've ever tried that doesn't taste, even the teeniest bit, like sunscreen. I love that it offers SPF 30, as well as a hit of hydration, a sheer wash of color and a fruity scent. A summer must-have." —Steph Saltzman, Beauty & Style Director
