✨ Fashion Insights & Trends:
The fashion and beauty industries are filled with interesting people from all over the world who have great taste — the types you can rely on for excellent travel recommendations. So, we're asking them about their favorite food, shopping and wellness spots in their cities. Consider this series your fashion and beauty person's guide to travel.
Debating which "Real Housewife" of Salt Lake City is the most stylish could fill an entire reunion episode, but it's safe to say Bronwyn Newport is at least a top-three contender. Upon joining the reality series in Season 5, Newport immediately stood out among her more understated cast-mates for her playfully maximalist, fresh-off-the-runway looks, and she's kept that energy ever since.
Suffice it to say, rainbow-hued Christopher John Rogers gowns, leopard-print bikini-puffer-jacket sets and famously rare $15,000 Saint Laurent fur heart coats are not standard fare in and around the conservative Utah capital. But Newport, who also spends time in New York City and is a regular Fashion Week attendee, isn't necessarily bored by her surroundings.
"I think SLC has its own charm and style," she tells Fashionista over email. "Especially in all the unique little neighborhoods around downtown. So much architecture, small, local businesses and the independent scenes of boutiques, especially bookstores, is robust."
Newport recently welcomed a new shopping destination to SLC by hosting the opening event for luxury secondhand retailer Fashionphile's first location in the region, complete with refreshments from her favorite local soda shop ... Well, one of them.
Read on to learn about all of the best places to drink, dine, shop, indulge in beauty treatments, enjoy the outdoors and more, according to SLC's resident fashion expert. Plus, bookmark the map below as a pre-made itinerary for your next trip.
