📰 A New Era Era of Maximalist Jewelry Is Upon Us
✨ Fashion Insights & Trends:
"Jewelry in 2026 feels sculptural, statement-making and personal," says Jillian Sassone, founder of Marrow Fine Jewelry. The rising trends in necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings are all about maximalism and individuality. And that marks a big change in the market.
"A few years ago, the focus was on pieces that were minimal, clean and very polished. But now people want pieces that feel collected, expressive and a little unexpected," she explains. "Layering, stacking, mixing textures and playing with bold shapes is becoming the norm; colorful gemstones and organic, fluid forms are taking the spotlight in a way we haven't really seen before."
Ashley Moubayed, the creative director and founder of indie jewelry brand Don't Let Disco, echoes the idea that pieces need to feel special in 2026. "I think people are craving connection, to history, to touch, to process," she tells Fashionista. This is one of the driving creative forces behind her brand, which is known for its whimsical multi-media styles, often incorporating beads (one of the year's most significant emerging jewelry trends).
Pair that consumer sentiment with skyrocketing gold prices, and alternate materials — think wooden, ceramic and glass beads; corded tassels and weighty resins — are dominating much of the trendscape. Ahead, we've highlighted six jewelry trends experts say will be everywhere in 2026, and shopped them out for you at every price point. Keep scrolling to see them all.
Beads
"A bead is something you physically hold; it has weight, texture and a story," says Moubayed of what is arguably 2026's most ubiquitous trend. "Wearing beads feels both nostalgic and personal, like carrying your own talisman. In a culture of speed and simulation, beads bring you back to something tactile and grounded. It's a luxury that you can actually feel." Of-the-moment styles go big on size, color and playfulness.

Bombé + Dome Rings
"These styles are hot, hot, hot — chunky is here to stay, and the domed, sculptural look is everything," says Frank Darling Co-Founder Kegan Fisher. Marrow's Sassone, whose brand is also big in the bridal space, agrees: "Bombé rings are having such a moment right now because they're bold, sculptural and timeless all at once." (She cites both Dua Lipa's and Miley Cyrus' engagement rings as proof that the trend is influencing celebrity tastes as well.) But this trend spans both fine jewelry and everyday accessories: Colorful and mixed-medium takes on the domed ring trend are also having a major moment.

Tassels
The tassel jewelry trend is an obvious extension of the aforementioned inflation-spurred pull toward non-metal jewelry materials. Seen most in necklaces — and a handful of earring styles — these beaded or corded tassels are complemented with wood accents, baroque pearls, shells and even (in the case of Chan Luu's delightfully kitschy Palais Tassel Necklace) a mini mother-of-pearl disco ball-like pendant.

Candy Colors
Blame it on nostalgia or shoppers' desperate quest for dopamine, but candy-colored styles are a 2026 staple. Some brands — like Susan Alexandra and Spicy Dan — are offering rainbow beaded chokers that evoke the candy necklaces of yesteryear. (Can't you taste that singular chalky sweetness?) But fine jewelers aren't immune to this trend, either: "Colorful gemstones are helping statement necklaces feel personal and modern," says Sassone. She's also excited about bright-hued enamel pieces she's seeing.

'80s Statement Earrings
Possibly no other jewelry style embodies the concept of maximalism quite so well as the '80s statement earring. With brands like Khaite and Heaven Mayhem helping stoke passions for this trend, this is one category in which metal is still very much on display, often in the form of flashy gold geometrics and organic silver shapes. "Sculptural statement earrings are everywhere right now," says Sassone." Frank Darling's Fisher concurs: "Earrings are going colorful and bold...with chunky silhouettes," she notes. The good news? This time around, they're lighter weight than their throwback counterparts. (So there's hopefully no need to budget for future earlobe filler.)

Ear Cuff Comeback
If 2026 is 2016, that completely tracks with this one: "Ear cuffs are definitely making a comeback," says Sassone. And this time, they're (you guessed it) bigger and bolder. Modern takes on this piercing-free accessory incorporate sharp silhouettes and chunky proportions. But much of ear cuffs' maximalism also comes from how they're styled: Layering is key. "Layering ear cuffs has become a distinctive styling approach, establishing a refined jewelry category in its own right. By playing with asymmetrical balance, it creates a look that feels effortlessly chic, and at times subtly daring," says Hirotaka, a jeweler whose ear cuffs have been worn by Carrie Coon, Cynthia Erivo and Kristen Stewart. Sassone is in agreement here: "When you stack [ear cuffs] with studs, hoops or climbers they can feel playful and personal — it's that balance that makes them so versatile."
