Origin Story

Smood Beauty started because Founder Andrew Lau spent over 10 years dealing with acne-prone, sensitive skin and feeling like skin care was either too harsh, too boring or made for skin that wasn't his.

He wanted products that could actually support his skin without stripping it, irritating it or making breakouts worse. A lot of acne-focused products felt aggressive, while a lot of "gentle" products felt like they didn't do enough. Smood was born somewhere in the middle.

Inspired by Korean skin care and his own experience with frustrated skin, Lau created Smood Beauty to make skin care that feels fun, gentle and effective without being intimidating.

Smood isn't only for acne. It's for all skin types, but every formula is made with acne-prone and sensitive skin in mind, so you can feel confident using it even if your skin breaks out easily. Smood's goal is simple: help skin feel calmer, healthier, more hydrated and more balanced without overcomplicating your routine.
