📰 Fashionista's April Shopping List: 28 Items Our Editors Love

✨ Fashion Insights & Trends:

As the fashion world holds its breath in anticipation for Met Gala Monday, team Fashionista took a break from predicting the best-dressed list to focus on refreshing our transitional wardrobes.

Our spring footwear selections got a much-needed upgrade with brown suede pointed-toe heels, retro-inspired black-and-white sneakers, chunky black loafers, mesh ballet flats and classic cowboy boots (just in time for the "Cowboy Carter" tour). Transitional wardrobe favorites took center stage this month via tie-front tops, breezy dresses and stylish activewear staples. As for our accessories, we embraced '90s-esque sunglasses, a compact gym duffle and a chic burgundy hobo bag.

Ahead, see (and shop!) all of Fashionista's favorite fashion finds from April.

Corral Boots L6180, $188, available here: "I semi-impulsively picked up these cowboy boots — an item I honestly never expected to own — on a recent trip to Nashville, and I've developed a newfound appreciation for the classic Western footwear. I'm so impressed by the sturdiness and overall beauty of these handcrafted (in Mexico) boots. (Read more about them here.)" —Dhani Mau, Editor in Chief

Dissh Gabby Bitter Choc Mini Dress, $170, available here: "We're quickly approaching need-clothing-that-does-not-touch-my-skin season (summer) in New York City, as our first over-80-degree day this month made me all too aware. This sleeveless cotton dress fits the bill, and I've had my eye on it for some time due to the unique neckline and roomy silhouette. My main decision has been: Do I go for the brown, cornflower blue or white colorway?" —Steph Saltzman, Beauty + Style Director

PuffCo Pivot Collector's Edition Kit in Mocha, $230, available here: "I've been a cannabis user for about three years now, and thought I was happy with my flower routine, but this has changed my life. I avoided dabs out of laziness to buy all the new supplies (a dab rig, dab tools, concentrates… it's a lot!) But this handy little kit simplified it all; it has everything you need to dab on the go (sans the dabs) complete with Q-tips to clean the chamber. The design is super sleek, I love the new mocha brown and the chic metal case it's stored in. I had to familiarize myself with the instructional video a few times to hack it, but it's now single handedly replaced all of my other weed activities. It's a smoke-less experience and uses the same charger as my iPhone, so I can take a deep breath knowing it's travel-safe for all of my summer plans. Total game changer." —Savannah Sitton, Market & Branded Content Editor

Marc Jacobs The Sack Bag, $495, available here: "The Marc Jacobs team recently invited me and my pup Fred into the store to get a pet portrait painted onto a bag as part of its new 'Bark Jacobs' service. I selected the biggest option available (The Sack Bag) and besides the fact that my boy is looking gorgeous on its side, it also holds all of my schlepping necessities — including my computer, a water bottle, several sunglasses and, of course, plenty of treats." —Brooke Frischer, Associate Editor + Social Media Manager

Strathberry Multrees Hobo, $645, available here: "As a bag enthusiast, I'm quite picky with my handbags. Finding one that checks off all the boxes — sturdy, spacious, stylish, strap fits my shoulder, practical — isn't the easiest feat, but Strathberry's Multrees Hobo proves to fit the bill. I can already tell I'll be flaunting this around all summer: It fits my keys, wallet, Kindle, headphones and beauty essentials, with plenty of room to spare, and the strap is more than long enough to fit under my arm comfortably. The dark burgundy color is a step away from my typical blacks, but neutral enough to fit in with my day-to-day wardrobe. Plus, it comes with a detachable leather strap, transforming it from a cool shoulder bag to a chic crossbody." —Janelle Sessoms, Staff Writer

"Pride & Prejudice" Mr. Darcy Yearning Oversized Unisex T-Shirt, $36, available here: "It is a truth universally acknowledged that the cinematic re-release of 2005's 'Pride & Prejudice' is every bookish girl's Super Bowl. For all my fellow yearners out there, Mr. Darcy's iconic hand flex (IYKYK) is now memorialized in a 100% cotton oversized tee. I know my birthday isn't until June, but this top has already been added to my wishlist." —Catie Pusateri, Contributing Writer

Halara Flex Low Rise Stretchy Knit Jeans, $85 $65, available here: "This month, I dug deep in my shopping research to discover the most comfortable jeans of the season. In all of my findings, I've yet to uncover a pair more comfortable than these from Halara. The activewear brand has perfected the art of 'fake denim' that's deceptively jean-like with superior stretch and a comfy waistband. This 'denim' is soft and stretchy, akin to cotton pajamas, but heavy enough to still look like jeans when you walk, rather than a sweatpants material that's clearly printed. They come in several colors, and I have multiple. I almost exclusively wore these every time I left the house this month." —Savannah

Naturalizer Gamechanger Ballet Flat by Deepica Mutyala, $130, available here: "I'm very into the mesh flat trend, but my one critique is that most of them lack support and feel a bit flimsy. This style, part of a collaboration between Naturalizer and Live Tinted founder Deepica Mutyala, is an exception: Designed for all-day wearability, they feature the brand's 'Contour+ Comfort' technology and a special gel rubber outsole for flexibility and traction. I really can spend all day walking in them without any issues." —Dhani

Warby Parker Rafael Sunglasses in Brushed Ink, $145, available here: "Cool person, excellent shopper and amazing personal style haver Laurel Pantin posted about these sunglasses on Instagram, and I was immediately influenced. The simple round metal frames and black-on-black colorway are very '90s dad, and they're slightly oversized (good anti-crow's feet sun protection!) without overwhelming my face." —Steph

Caviar Kaspia x Linda's at Bergdorf Goodman Spinel Lariat, $280, available here: "There are few things I love more than caviar and Bergdorf Goodman (what can I say, I have good taste), so when an email announcing Caviar Kaspia's jewelry collaboration with Linda's at BG landed in my inbox, my eyes lit up and my heart started palpitating. There's no better way to manifest my next fix of caviar than by wearing an equally luxurious string of 14k gold-filled beads around my neck." —Brooke

Edie Parker Gemstoned Lighter Case, $85, available here: "In honor of 4/20, I got my lighters a cute outfit. I actually got this cabochon lighter case with a long chain strap, meant to be worn as a crossbody or belt, but I do wish the chain was detachable like this chain-less one. I love the look of the sculptural gemstones, which aren't just pretty, but actually sit comfortably in my hand and give a good grip when lighting. Plus, a super cute campaign from the brand featuring Gabby Windey made me want this diamond version even more. It's basically jewelry for your lighter, and more incentive not to lose it." —Savannah

Everlane The Lug Loafer, $198 $129, available here: "I've tried many loafers throughout my life, but these by far win the superlative for 'Most Comfortable.' Unlike most others, they don't require breaking in. Straight out of the box, I wore these for a long day out (sans socks!) and didn't face any discomfort or blisters. Weeks later, they've quickly become a go-to shoe for work events or a formal night out. I typically dress them up with a blazer and slacks, but they can be easily styled down for a more casual look." —Janelle

Scarlett Poppies Freja Top, $245, available here: "For those looking to channel 'The White Lotus' this summer (you know, without the murder plot line), this linen and cotton top from Scarlett Poppies captures that beachy, resortwear feel. I love the breezy, front tie bows paired with the wide sleeves for a comfortable fit, but the real star of the show is the top's floral embroidery: The yellow, blue and cream-colored petals pop against the black embroidered trim, turning the linen and cotton top into a summertime statement piece." —Catie

Levi's Dry Goods Pointelle T-Shirt, $35, available here: "We all of course know Levi's as a go-to for jeans, but don't sleep on the brand's tees. This 94% cotton pointelle style is inspired by one of the brand's first-ever knitwear pieces made in the early 1900s and features the most adorable (but not overly girlish) little rose at the neckline. It's a bit heavier and more structured than many pointelle tops on the market, which I also appreciate." —Dhani

Negative Whipped Track Pant, $190, available here: "Plain and simple: I have never worn a softer, more lightweight, comfier lounge pant. Is the 'Sand' beige color I have so see-through I would never wear them anywhere besides my couch and my bed? Yes. Do I care even a little? Absolutely not." —Steph

Aritzia Leather Bomber Jacket, $228, available here: "I've never owned a black leather jacket before, and now, I won't need to invest in another one for the foreseeable future. Comfort is a given thanks to its slightly oversized fit and soft buttery leather feel. It's also lightweight enough to wear in milder temperatures, without suffering heatstroke. Most importantly, I feel cool and edgy — less 'Teen Beach Movie' and more Bella Hadid off-duty." —Janelle

Maison de Sabré The Sabrémoji Fruit Charm, $75, available here: "Now that New York is reaching warmer temperatures, my mind is officially in summer mode. Specifically, summer tomato mode. I'm a proud tomato enthusiast, and any fellow fans of the hotly debated fruit-slash-vegetable know there's simply nothing better than a beautifully sliced heirloom sat alongside some fresh mozzarella (or simply tossed with some cucumbers, olive oil and salt). Until the actual summer months hit, I will be appeasing my cravings with this adorable bag charm (which also conveniently holds an AirTag)." —Brooke

Victoria's Secret Defined Scuba Jacket Zip Top, $70, available here: "I, too, was pulled into the 'BBL jacket' trend this month, and this new scuba material from VSX has become my new favorite. I like its sleek, minimal tailoring (no pockets) for a smooth silhouette. Upon first glance, it looks like a polished work jacket so it's perfect for work-to-gym days. For bottoms, I also got (and love) the scuba skort (skorts are hot this season) and cropped flare pants — this material is just so good for moisture-wicking, and it's slightly compressive but still comfortable." —Savannah

Athleta Match Point High Rise Pleated Skort, $79 $47, available here: "Whether you're a Tashi Duncan-level tennis pro or an aspiring novice, this pleated skort is stylish on and off the court. The shorts underneath don't uncomfortably ride up while you're moving around, and they've got built-in side pockets. Though the skort definitely has a sporty feel with its elastic band and pleated detailing, it transitions well to off-the-court excursions (say, a post-match brunch)." —Catie

Akila Psyche Sunglasses, $150, available here: "After admiring the sustainably-minded Los Angeles-based eyewear brand's frames from afar, I finally got a chance to try a pair at an event, where a rep for the label immediately pulled this '90s-inspired style when I asked for recs for a tiny face, and they suit me perfectly. Akila has some of the coolest frame/lens color combos on the market, and while I wouldn't typically go for olive green and sky blue, the colors aren't super saturated, so they read as fairly neutral and can really be worn with anything. I get compliments every time I wear them, and the quality is excellent, especially for the price." —Dhani

Modern Citizen Hira Tie-Front Organic Cotton Blouse, $135, available here: "In my ongoing quest to incorporate tops into my wardrobe that aren't T-shirts (it's not going great), I came upon this tiered cotton blouse and knew it would be a piece I'd actually want to wear. It's elevated without being prissy or making me feel like I'm doing business-woman cosplay, the way some button downs do, and the lightweight organic cotton makes it practical for year-round wear." —Steph

M.M LaFleur Leila Slouchy Sweater, $269, available here: "I'm not quite ready to say goodbye to sweater weather, but this striped number makes the transition more bearable. The boxy fit, shorter sleeves and mid-weight make it transitional-weather-appropriate. Aside from its cozy fit, I love the fun use of color, providing an ounce of pop to my otherwise black wardrobe, but not so much that it's overwhelming." —Janelle

Everlane The Dream Mini Skirt, $58, available here: "I'm celebrating the return of skirt season with this chic high-waisted white mini skirt. It's a pivot from my usual floral maxi skirts, instead offering a sleek, minimalist look without sacrificing the comfort of a longer silhouette. Its bright white colorway complements its fellow neutrals (especially my go-to black bodysuit), but it also pairs well with springtime's pastel color palette." —Catie

Gola Classics Elan 120 Leather Sneakers, $120, available here: "This cult-favorite British sneaker brand celebrated its 120th anniversary with a capsule of its best-selling designs, including this black-and-white Elan sneaker I had to have. The leather and suede style feels retro but still refreshingly modern, with thick gum soles and a fun pop of yellow on the interior. They're incredibly versatile and seriously comfortable; I've walked in them for hours without a single complaint. As a New Yorker with high expectations on my sneakers (affordable comfort), this brand is definitely a new favorite of mine." —Savannah

Freak on a Leash x Ashton Michael Three Row Spike Leather Collar, $50, available here: "Another win for Fred. It's tough to find a collar that both meets my fashion standards and doesn't break the bank. This very cool style features three rows of spikes and studs, allowing Fred to complement my own gold jewelry on a daily basis. Plus, the three-dimensional hardware doesn't get caught in his very long hair (another tough feat for most dog accessories). —Brooke

Campbell & Kramer Thalia Baby Tee, $70, available here: "On the rare occasion I want a 'sexy' top, my go-to has always been something sheer with a black bra underneath. Enter this baby tee made from (deadstock) stretch lace, adding an extra dose of comfort to the whole equation." —Dhani

Abercrombie & Fitch Smocked Tie-Front Maxi Dress, $100 $80, available here: "Lately I've been fighting the urge to buy everything in a gingham print, but I couldn't pass up this flowing maxi dress with its double-tie front. It's casual enough to pair with sneakers for a day at the park, but it can also be dressed up with heeled sandals and some statement jewelry for an elevated night out. The second the temperature hits 80℉, trust I'll be living in this dress. (Plus, it's got pockets!)" —Catie

Under Armour UA Courtside Crop Hoodie, $140, available here: "Under Armour's new 'UA Courtside' collection is full of elevated casual pieces meant for on- and off-duty, like this sweatshirt. I love an 'elevated' hoodie; it feels low-key, but with just the right amount of polish so I don't feel like a slob when I throw it on with jeans. The ribbed-knit hems give it a luxurious touch, and the cropped length strikes that perfect balance between cozy and put-together." —Savannah
