Its parent company OTB Group announced the news Friday, stating in a press release that his exit marks the conclusion of a “transformative chapter in the brand’s history.” Martens will remain creative director of Maison Margiela — also owned by OTB — a role he took on last year after John Galliano’s departure. The fashion brand, founded by Lili Chemla in 2019, just opened its first-ever L.A. store at Palisades Village in Los Angeles’ Pacific Palisades neighborhood. It follows the success of the brand’s Bleecker St. store in New York City, and this is only the beginning: Leset is planning a larger West Hollywood location for early next year.
