📰 The 14 Best Beauty Products Fashionista Editors Tried in February
✨ Fashion Insights & Trends:
Each month, Fashionista editors try a *lot* of beauty products. And while not every formula we test is a winner, we're constantly unearthing new favorites. Here, we've rounded up our latest hair, skin, fragrance, wellness and makeup discoveries — whether fresh-to-market drops or merely recent additions to our personal routines.
Between New York Fashion Week chaos and the city's first blizzard in 10 years, our editors were busy upgrading their beauty routines (...and bingeing "Bridgerton" Season 4 under a cozy blanket).
This month, a mandelic acid-powered pore-clearing serum, a mid-weight daily moisturizer and a glow-enhancing PDRN serum topped our winter skin-care regimens. As for our makeup discoveries, we embraced a sheer matte lipstick, a buttery bronzing stick and a versatile eye-shadow palette. We also dove into some fruit-forward fragrances and multi-tasking hair products.
Below, see (and shop!) all of our editors' favorite beauty finds from February.

Versed Skin Refine Gentle Pore Clearing Serum, $19, available here: "My hormonal-breakout-prone skin loves mandelic acid for its gentle pore-clearing abilities; this lightweight, fast-absorbing serum combines it with salicylic acid for even more acne-fighting power. But despite its potent exfoliators, the formula hasn't caused a bit of irritation for me." —Steph Saltzman, Beauty + Style Director

Too Faced Melting Bronzing & Sculpting Stick, $35, available here: "Although I haven't been a huge bronzer person in the past, this sculpting stick has singlehandedly made me come around. It melts into my skin like butter and is super easy to blend, whether I'm using a sponge or my fingers. A couple of swipes and I'm left with a sculpted complexion and natural-looking warmth (which is much appreciated during these winter days)." —Janelle Sessoms, Staff Writer

Merit Signature Lip Lightweight Lip Blush, $28, available here: "Merit's new Lip Blush — a sheer matte lipstick — was truly the MVP of my lip routine this month. The velvety formula glides on with the help of 'gel-wrapped pigments,' per the brand, and also includes a smoothing sesame-based active. It delivers a romantic, blurred finish that looks effortless (never chalky). I'm obsessed with the shade Archival, a cool-toned mauve that melts into my natural lip color." —Catie Pusateri, Staff Writer

Crown Affair The Smoothing Air Dry Cream, $38, available here: "As Fashionista’s resident curly girl I try a lot of curly hair products. While I could practically open a store with the ones that didn't work for me, there have been very, very few standouts. Crown Affair's long-awaited (at least by me) curl product is one of them. The magic lies in its ability to actually smooth frizz (and I have FRIZZ frizz, if you know what I mean) and add shine without being heavy or sticky. It pulls double-duty as a leave-in and styling product, adding just enough definition to my fine, 3A/B curls without making them look too perfect or 'styled.' It's a match for my lazy-yet-discerning approach to beauty; and like all of the brand's products, it smells fantastic." —Dhani Mau, Editor in Chief

Rhode Peptide Lip Boost Plumping Lip Mask, $23, available here: "Most lip-plumping products irritate lips into appearing fuller; this one moisturizes and coddles them into it with hyaluronic acid, peptides, amino acids and ceramides. I apply the thick, non-sticky balm before bed, and wake up to super-soft lips." —Steph

Abib PDRN Glow Serum, $28, available here: "My skin has needed some evening out as of late, so I've regularly grabbed this PDRN serum over the past few weeks. The salmon sperm-(no, that's not a typo) powered formula boasts skin-regeneration benefits, so it not only addresses uneven texture, but also supports collagen production, brightening and barrier strengthening. It's now a non-negotiable step before I apply my moisturizer." —Janelle

Native Strawberry Matcha Hand Soap, $6, available here: "Even though I missed the matcha latte train, Native has officially converted me with its strawberry matcha-scented hand soap. As part of the brand's limited-edition Boba Cafe line, this soothing formula smells like a refreshing summer day with notes of matcha tea, bergamot and florals. Plus, it doesn't aggravate my sensitive skin after my much-too-frequent hand washing." —Catie

Samir Grey One Parfum, $138, available here: "This balanced scent incorporates fruity (candied peach), cozy (vanilla and amber) and floral (tiare, a Tahitian bloom similar to gardenia) notes. And with a 30% concentration of fragrance oil in the juice, it's also a long-lasting scent — I can still smell it at the end of the day." —Steph

Face Reality Barrier Care Gel Cream, $38, available here: "Face Reality hasn't steered me wrong yet with its (truly) acne-safe skin-care products and its newest moisturizer is no exception, bringing the barrier-repair trend to those of us with normal-to-dry acne-prone skin. (We're not all oily!!) Packed with ceramides, Squalane, humectants and soothing botanicals, the formula has saved my skin during an especially dry period thanks to winter weather and a new Tretinoin regimen." —Dhani

Prequel AM/PM Moisturizer, $18, available here: "My skin gets dry very quickly — even more so during the winter — so I'm always looking for moisturizers that can keep up with my hydration needs. Prequel's has proved to be up to the task: The creamy, rich, mid-weight moisturizer gives me that healthy, hydrated glow that lasts all day, even when running around NYC for NYFW. It is also fast-absorbing and works extremely well under makeup." —Janelle

Kristin Ess The One 12-in-1 Leave-In Primer, $15, available here: "I may turn my nose up at three-in-one shampoos, but somehow a '12-in-one' leave-in conditioner is music to my ears. This overachieving 'primer' protects up to 450°F, detangles, smooths, fights frizz and prevents split ends, to name a few benefits. It's formulated with panthenol to boost shine, hydrolyzed quinoa to repair damage and glycerin to lock in moisture. After spritzing in damp hair before blow drying, my strands feel soft and bouncy (never weighed down or coated in product)." —Catie

Danessa Myricks Mini Everyday Magic Neutral Freedom Palette, $48, available here: "We love a one-stop shop to create a neutral, everyday eye-shadow look or a fun, glitzy, makeup moment. This palette truly has everything: versatile colors, buttery mattes, reflective chromes, incredible staying power and great pigmentation. It also comes with a cute leather pouch to keep it in." —Janelle

The 7 Virtues Strawberry Jam Eau de Parfum, $94, available here: "Even though NYC is now buried under more snow mounds, I'm daydreaming about springtime picnics thanks to The 7 Virtues' new fruit-forward fragrance. This juicy gourmand blends strawberry, vanilla marshmallow and pistachio into a refreshing scent perfect for sweet tooths. Maybe if I keep spritzing this on, the snow will magically melt into spring flowers." —Catie

Native Ultra Moisture Shave Cream, $12, available here: "I haven't used actual shaving cream in years — it's a product category I never really liked, dominated by overly sweet scents, razor-clogging formulas and malfunctioning aerosol cans. But Native has refreshed the concept with a new range of soap- and sulfate-free shave creams. It delivers real hydration without clogging my blades, and the Cashmere & Rain scent is subtle yet delightful." —Dhani
In case you missed last month's picks, you can find them here:
Oribe Curl Gloss, $46, available here: "Oribe generously sent me its entire rebranded curl line and it's filled with excellent products (that smell amazing), but I find my myself reaching for this Curl Gloss the most. It's a truly lightweight, hydrating gel that helps my hair hold onto its shape and keeps frizz at bay without making my strands feel crunchy or weighed down. The resulting look is more soft and natural than ultra-defined." —Dhani Mau, Editor in Chief
