Origin Story
Poppy & Peonies is a Canadian, Métis female-founded accessory brand built on the belief that style and function should go hand in hand. Designed to support busy, modern lives, the brand combines practicality with elevated design to help lighten everyday demands on busy women and moms. The brand was founded in 2015 by Natalie Dusome, a mom and designer inspired to create solutions that seamlessly transition from work to motherhood.
Growing up in small-town Ontario, Dusome always dreamed of becoming a fashion designer. After formal training and experience designing for global brands including Banana Republic, Abercrombie & Fitch and Aldo, her perspective shifted once she became a mother. Struggling to find accessories that balanced organization and style, she launched Poppy & Peonies with determination and a baby by her side. What began in her basement has grown into a thriving nine-figure brand.
Sustainability and community are central to the brand's mission. Guided by the Indigenous Seventh Generation Principle, Poppy & Peonies uses vegan, cruelty-free materials, ships plastic-free and continually works to reduce its environmental impact. The company is also committed to giving back, supporting women and children in particular, especially within Indigenous communities, through donations, partnerships and ongoing advocacy.
