Well, the top design position at Courrèges hasn't sat vacant for long. Following Nicolas Di Felice's departure last week after helming the French luxury label for five years, the brand has announced Drew Henry is officially taking the reins as artistic director. He starts in May 2026 and will unveil his debut runway collection for Courrèges during Paris Fashion Week in September.

A graduate of Central Saint Martins, the 38-year-old South African designer started his design career at Céline circa the Phoebe Philo era before becoming JW Anderson's design director for ready-to-wear. Henry again went to work alongside Philo in 2020 at her namesake label as the head of design. Most recently, he served as Burberry's senior design director since 2023.

"Joining this iconic French House, I feel a strong responsibility to honor its history while bringing my own perspective," Henry said in a statement. "I am grateful to François-Henri Pinault and Marie Leblanc for their trust, and I am excited to shape a vision for the House that is optimistic, clear and grounded."

Offering a glimpse into his design aesthetic for Courrèges, Henry added: "André Courrèges believed in clothes that make sense for how people live. That matters to me. I have always been drawn to work that feels modern, useful and direct."

Henry's appointment marks the latest development in the ongoing creative director switch-ups at top luxury houses, including Pieter Muliertaking over at Versace, Marco De Vincenzo exiting Etro and Harris Reedclocking out at Nina Ricci, among many others.
