The Face Magazine is Closing

British magazine The Face is shutting down, seven years after it relaunched under Wasted Talent Ltd. The publication confirmed its closing on Instagram, thanking all its contributors and supporters over the years. The decision comes three months after longtime editor-in-chief Matthew Whitehouse stepped down and The Face hired six new staff members. Wasted Talent CEO Jerry Perkins told Business of Fashion that there's still an opportunity for The Face to transition to a direct-to-consumer model. The final closing date hasn't been revealed, but the publication has a "few more beautiful covers to drop in the coming weeks," per its Instagram post. {Business of Fashion/paywalled}

Travis Kelce signs as Tommy Hilfiger global ambassador

Travis Kelce has joined Tommy Hilfiger as global brand ambassador and creative collaborator. He will star in the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 campaigns and be part of a design collaboration. "I've long admired Tommy Hilfiger as an iconic American brand," Kelce said in a press statement. "Ever since high school, when I used to ask my mom to buy Sailing Gear jackets, I've been drawn towards the brand's confident style and over the years have respected its ability to be classic and consistent while still evolving. Getting to work with Tommy and put my own twist on timeless pieces, in a way that feels original for today, is a dream come true." {Fashionista inbox}

Why tech brands are copying fashion

Tech giants are copying the fashion playbook by prioritizing world-building and identity to reach consumers. They are mimicking brand storytelling strategies, poaching industry talent and following fashion's lead in doubling down on IRL events and experiential retail to build consumer loyalty. The goal is to differentiate themselves from competitors in a landscape of functionally similar products. {Vogue Business/paywalled}
